Dana Gas and Crescent Petroleum expand the Khor Mor gas field in Iraq, increasing its capacity by 50 percent. However, The companies completed the KM250 expansion project eight months earlier than planned, showing strong progress in Iraq’s growing energy sector. This achievement strengthens Iraq’s ability to produce more power and support economic growth across the Kurdistan Region.

The KM250 project adds 250 million standard cubic feet of gas per day to the Khor Mor facility. Now, the field produces a total of 750 million cubic feet daily, making it one of Iraq’s largest gas operations. Dana Gas and Crescent Petroleum expand the Khor Mor gas field in Iraq to improve electricity generation and ensure a more stable energy supply for millions of people.

This $1.1 billion investment represents a major step in supporting the Kurdistan Regional Government’s (KRG) energy goals. It helps provide continuous and affordable power to homes and industries. The new capacity will also attract more investment and contribute to the region’s industrial growth.

Dana Gas and Crescent Petroleum expand the Khor Mor gas field in Iraq not only to increase output but also to improve technology and efficiency. Their early completion demonstrates effective teamwork and strong operational management. The companies and their partners in the Pearl Petroleum consortium are proving their long-term commitment to Iraq’s energy future.

The Khor Mor field supplies fuel for over 75 percent of northern Iraq’s electricity. This makes it a key part of the region’s energy infrastructure. The expansion ensures that more than six million people continue to access affordable and reliable power. It also reduces Iraq’s dependence on imported energy, helping the country move toward greater self-sufficiency.

Furthermore, the success of the KM250 project highlights Iraq’s potential for further development in gas production. The project reflects confidence from international energy investors in Iraq’s stability and its ability to support large-scale projects.
