Baghdad Chamber of Commerce Supports Amman Trade Office Plans

The Baghdad Chamber of Commerce has welcomed the Amman Chamber of Commerce’s plan to establish a trade office in Baghdad. The move aims to strengthen economic and trade ties between Iraq and Jordan.

In a meeting with Raad Bureij, Vice President of the Baghdad Chamber, Amman Chamber President Khalil Al-Haj Toufic highlighted the importance of activating the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two chambers to promote trade, investment, and partnerships.

Al-Haj Toufic also announced plans for an economic delegation from Jordan, consisting of exporters, investors, and importers, to explore opportunities within the Iraqi market. He proposed the creation of a Jordanian trade center in Baghdad, owned by the Amman Chamber, to streamline exports to Iraq.

Bureij suggested reciprocal visits by Iraqi and Jordanian economic delegations and the development of a sector-specific database to support businesses in decision-making, investment, and trade. He expressed Baghdad Chamber’s commitment to assisting in the establishment of the trade office and providing necessary resources for its success.

Bureij further encouraged Jordanian companies to enter the Iraqi market through strategic partnerships, particularly in sectors such as housing, industry, trade, infrastructure, IT, construction, contracting, and transportation.

Both chambers expect closer cooperation in the near future to advance mutual economic interests.
