USD/IQD Exchange Rates Climb in Baghdad and Erbil as Dollar Gains Strength

Iraq’s USD/IQD exchange rates moved higher on Monday morning as the US dollar gained value against the Iraqi dinar in both Baghdad and Erbil. The latest trading figures showed a noticeable increase across major currency markets, reflecting stronger demand for the dollar at the start of the week. Traders closely monitored the market after Sunday’s lower levels, while exchange offices adjusted their prices throughout the morning.

The biggest movement appeared in Baghdad’s central currency exchanges. Dealers at the Al-Kifah and Al-Harithiya markets traded the US dollar at 150,050 Iraqi dinars for every 100 dollars. Sunday’s rate stood at 149,650 dinars, making Monday’s opening noticeably higher. The increase highlighted renewed activity in Iraq’s foreign exchange market as traders reacted to changing demand.

Currency exchange shops across the Iraqi capital also updated their prices. Many shops offered the dollar at 150,500 dinars per 100 dollars for customers looking to purchase US currency. Meanwhile, buying prices reached around 149,500 dinars per 100 dollars. The gap between buying and selling prices remained consistent with normal market conditions and reflected operating costs along with market expectations.

In Erbil, the capital of the Kurdistan Region, the market followed a similar direction. Exchange offices listed the selling price at 150,200 dinars per 100 US dollars. At the same time, buyers received approximately 150,100 dinars for every 100 dollars they exchanged. These figures showed that Erbil’s market continued to move closely with Baghdad while maintaining slight regional differences.

Market participants often watch daily currency movements because they influence commercial activity across Iraq. Importers, retailers, and businesses rely on exchange rates when purchasing goods from international suppliers. Even modest changes can affect operating costs, especially for companies that depend on foreign currencies for trade.

Consumers also pay attention to exchange rates because price fluctuations may eventually influence the cost of imported products. Electronics, vehicles, household goods, and many other products rely on international markets. As a result, currency movements remain an important indicator for businesses and families alike.

Financial observers expect traders to continue monitoring regional and international developments that could influence market confidence. Demand for the US dollar often changes in response to commercial transactions, banking activity, and broader economic conditions. These factors can lead to daily adjustments across Iraq’s currency exchanges.

Although Monday’s increase was relatively moderate, it attracted attention because it reversed the previous day’s lower level. Dealers will likely continue tracking trading volumes and customer demand throughout the week. If buying activity remains strong, prices could continue fluctuating in the coming days.

The latest USD/IQD exchange rates demonstrate how quickly Iraq’s currency market can respond to shifts in supply and demand. Businesses and consumers will continue following these updates as they plan financial transactions. For now, the USD/IQD exchange rates remain a key indicator of market activity in both Baghdad and Erbil.
