Iraq gas recovery progress

Iraq strengthens its energy sector as the Iraq gas recovery effort grows in the East Baghdad field. Officials highlight major progress and describe how new projects support stronger national production. The ministry also outlines several steps that increase efficiency and reduce waste. Moreover, the continued work builds confidence in Iraq’s long-term energy goals.

The Ministry of Oil confirms clear progress in daily gas recovery. Officials say the East Baghdad field now returns around 15 million cubic feet of gas each day. This progress increases available energy and supports nearby power plants. The ministry also notes that teams work around the clock to expand the Iraq gas recovery project.

Salah Hassan from the Midland Oil Company explains the technical developments. He says engineers now run new gas compressors that increase the recovery rate. He also says the operation team improves safety and speed through better planning. Furthermore, the company strengthens coordination with several technical units. This teamwork boosts efficiency across the entire site.

The Taji gas-fired power plant now operates with a capacity of 70 megawatts. This plant uses recovered gas from the East Baghdad field. The link between the field and the station strengthens Iraq’s energy grid. As a result, more homes and businesses receive stable power. Engineers continue to monitor systems and improve output whenever needed.

Firas Fawzi, the head of operations at MOC, shares additional details. He says the field will enter a full gas production phase after oil output increases. He expects oil production to reach 120,000 barrels per day. Firas Fawzi also confirms that gas production will rise after the oil stage strengthens. These steps reinforce the Iraq gas recovery plan and support future expansion.

Fawzi also explains that gas output may reach between 25 and 50 million cubic feet per day.As well as, This range creates room for gradual growth. Technicians continue to prepare the equipment for this stage. They also train workers to ensure smooth operations and high performance.

The ministry highlights cooperation with the Chinese company EBS. Both sides seek stronger development of the field. Their plans include new wells, updated infrastructure, and improved extraction systems. This cooperation opens the door for faster growth and higher national revenue.

A major discovery recently expanded the reserves of the East Baghdad field. Specialists now estimate the reserves at around 15 billion barrels. This discovery strengthens Iraq’s position among global oil producers. It also creates new opportunities for investment and long-term economic growth.

Iraq continues to focus on energy independence. However, The government supports projects that limit waste and increase production. With consistent development, Iraq aims to build a stronger, cleaner, and more profitable energy sector.
