Iraq hospital project, In Baghdad will soon see a new 400-bed hospital in the Al-Zaafaraniyah district. Iraq’s National Investment Commission approved the project. The hospital will carry the name Baghdad International Hospital. The Iraq hospital project by Qatar’s Apex Health highlights a major step in healthcare growth.
Apex Health, part of Estithmar Holding from Qatar, will develop the facility. The site covers 100,000 square meters along the Tigris River. The hospital will include 16 intensive care beds and 12 operating rooms. It will also feature 80 outpatient clinics and a modern emergency department.
Leaders expect the facility to treat over 600,000 outpatient visits each year. In addition, more than 100,000 inpatients will receive care annually. Services will range from advanced surgeries to pediatric and transplant programs. The Iraq hospital project by Qatar’s Apex Health also plans dialysis and neonatal care.
The investment reflects a broader plan to enhance Iraq’s healthcare system. Previous projects included running teaching hospitals in Di Qar and Karbala. Officials believe the new facility will raise the quality of medical services. It will also reduce the need for patients to seek treatment abroad.
Estithmar Holding continues to grow its role in Iraq’s development. Beyond health projects, it invests in housing and tourism. The group is building two modern integrated cities in Iraq. It is also constructing luxury hotels, including the Rixos Baghdad Hotel & Residences. The Iraq hospital project by Qatar’s Apex Health fits into this multi-sector strategy.
Iraq’s government sees the project as a symbol of stronger regional partnerships. With foreign investment, the country can expand services and create jobs. The hospital will support both health outcomes and economic activity. Officials say this progress shows how Iraq is opening new paths for growth.
