Iraq joined more than 120 nations on Tuesday for the international preparatory conference for Iraq Expo Belgrade 2027. The event took place in Serbia’s capital, Belgrade, and focused on collaboration for the upcoming global exhibition.
Hanoun Karim, who led the Iraqi delegation, emphasized Iraq’s full commitment to this event. He confirmed that the Iraqi government and the Ministry of Trade directly support Iraq’s participation.
According to Karim, Iraq plans to unveil a national pavilion that highlights its rich history and modern development ambitions. Moreover, the country aims to showcase its economic, cultural, and investment strengths on the international stage.
Iraq also seeks to build strong partnerships with other countries participating in the Expo. These partnerships are intended to help Iraq benefit from shared global experience in organizing and managing world-class events.
In several technical sessions, Iraq collaborated with other delegations to exchange ideas on pavilion design. Delegates also discussed cultural and commercial programming to accompany the Expo.
Throughout the day, organizers shared updates about infrastructure projects underway in Belgrade. These include venue construction and planning related to visitor services and event logistics.
Expo Belgrade 2027 marks a historic milestone, being the first such event hosted in the Western Balkans. Scheduled to run from May 15 to August 15, the Expo will revolve around the theme: “Play for Humanity: Sport and Music for All.”
