Iraq Leads Arab Tourism to Turkiye in Early 2025

Iraq has emerged as the top Arab country in terms of tourism to Turkiye, according to data released by the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism. From January to February 2025, Iraq recorded 133,525 visitors to Turkiye, marking a 9.98% increase compared to the same period in 2024, when the number stood at 121,413.

Saudi Arabia followed in second place with 85,975 visitors, while Algeria ranked third with 49,523 visitors. Libya and Lebanon rounded out the top five with 34,462 and 30,697 visitors, respectively.

Additionally, Iraq has continued to strengthen its economic ties with Turkiye. The country ranked as the fifth-largest importer from Turkiye in January 2025 and was the third-largest buyer of Turkish real estate in February, as reported by the Turkish Statistical Institute. These developments reflect growing cultural and economic ties between Iraq and Turkiye.
