Iraq Expresses Interest in Joining the International Solar Alliance

Iraq’s Prime Minister, Mohammed S. Al-Sudani, has announced the country’s interest in joining the International Solar Alliance (ISA). This statement came after a meeting with India’s newly appointed Ambassador to Iraq, Sumin Baghchi.

The ISA, which is headquartered in India, is a global initiative co-founded by India and France to combat climate change by promoting the use of solar energy. The alliance currently includes more than 100 countries, with over 90 having fully ratified membership.

The ISA’s mission is to facilitate $1 trillion in solar investments by 2030, aiming to reduce the cost of solar technology and financing globally.
