The Brazilian Ambassador to Iraq, Luis Ivaldo, emphasized his country’s commitment to bolstering economic relations with Iraq, particularly in the areas of industry and agriculture. On Thursday, the ambassador noted that Brazil is eager to assist Iraq in these sectors by leveraging modern technologies to drive growth and development.
Ivaldo highlighted the significant increase in trade volume between the two nations, which surged by 48%, reaching $1.9 billion in 2024. He described the relationship between Brazil and Iraq as historic and multifaceted, with ongoing political and economic ties. The ambassador expressed Brazil’s intention to expand cooperation in various other sectors, strengthening the bilateral bond.
“Iraq has become an important trade partner, and we are committed to further developing our ties. Brazil is ready to assist in enhancing Iraq’s industrial and agricultural sectors through the use of advanced technologies,” Ivaldo stated. He also emphasized that the private sector’s involvement would be crucial for the success of these initiatives, noting that the Brazilian embassy would support Iraqi companies seeking to collaborate with Brazilian businesses.
Additionally, Ivaldo stated that the embassy would act as a mediator between Brazilian manufacturers and Iraqi importers, helping to facilitate contracts and partnerships.
