Strong Digital Growth

Iraq continues to grow its digital sector, and the country moves quickly toward strong digital growth. New data shows a massive rise in fiber-optic internet subscriptions. The rollout of modern networks accelerates this shift, and more regions now join the nationwide upgrade.

Iraq records an impressive increase in fiber users. Subscriptions rise from thousands to more than one million, and every month brings new connections. The increase shows the country’s commitment to strong digital growth. The expansion of Fiber to the Home services plays a major role, and Next Generation Network systems support this progress. These systems combine voice, data, and video, and they give users faster and more stable service.

Baghdad leads the growth. The capital records more than two hundred thousand fiber users, and this number forms a large part of the national total. Other provinces also expand their networks. Excluding the Kurdistan Region, many areas reach hundreds of thousands of subscriptions. The rise shows clear demand for faster internet, and companies try to meet this demand with new infrastructure.

However, some southern provinces still struggle with low adoption. Dhi Qar reports no fiber subscriptions, while Muthanna and Maysan show only small numbers. These differences highlight the need for more investment, and they show why the government and private companies continue to push for wider access.

Meanwhile, mobile internet still leads the market. Iraq records more than twenty million mobile users. This number shows that mobile data remains the main source of connectivity for most people. Baghdad holds the highest number of mobile users, and Basra and Nineveh follow closely. In the Kurdistan Region, Slemani records more than one million mobile subscribers, while Erbil reaches over half a million.

Infrastructure data also shows rapid expansion. Major mobile operators continue to grow their 4G networks. They operate millions of towers across the country. Baghdad hosts the highest number, and this helps support the city’s heavy demand for mobile service. The continued expansion of these networks supports Iraq’s progress toward strong digital growth.

Iraq moves closer to a modern digital future. The rise in fiber connections, the strength of mobile networks, and the spread of new technologies all support this direction. The country continues to upgrade its systems, and every improvement helps build a more connected society.
