Basrah Medium also advanced by $4.81, reaching $88.45 per barrel. The grade gained 5.75% as stronger regional prices supported the broader market. The move placed Iraq’s key export grades among the notable gainers of the session.
Other Middle Eastern crude benchmarks also recorded significant increases. The OPEC reference basket rose 3.63% to $95.32 per barrel. Oman crude followed with a 5.16% increase, reaching $99.18 per barrel.
Saudi Arabia’s Arab Light posted an even stronger rise during the session. The grade climbed 6.70% to $91.78 per barrel. Kuwait Export crude also advanced sharply, gaining 7.21% to settle at $96.11 per barrel.
The regional gains contrasted with more limited movements in major international futures. Brent crude edged down 0.30% to $95.34 per barrel. US West Texas Intermediate also slipped, falling 0.11% to $90.91.
Murban crude moved in the opposite direction, posting a modest increase. Its price reached $106.10 per barrel during the latest session. The differing moves highlight a mixed picture across global and regional benchmarks.
The latest Basrah crude prices increase could support Iraq’s oil revenues if stronger levels persist. Oil remains central to Iraq’s public finances and export earnings. However, daily price movements can change quickly as traders respond to market developments.
