Iraq airports witnessed strong air traffic growth during June. The Ministry of Transport shared new air travel figures showing this sharp increase.
Baghdad International Airport led all airports in Iraq. It recorded the highest number of flights arriving and leaving the capital city.
Across Iraq, airports handled many flights during the month. In total, there were 10,812 transit flights passing through Iraq’s skies.
In addition, there were 2,287 outbound flights from Iraq’s airports. Furthermore, 2,259 incoming flights arrived during June.
Officials said that this rise reflects better air services and stronger flight operations across the country.
The Director General of Iraq’s Air Navigation Services, Dr Abbas Sabah Al-Baydani, discussed these positive results. He explained that the Ministry is working hard to improve airport services.
He stressed that recent efforts focus on airport infrastructure upgrades. These upgrades help boost service quality for both travellers and airlines.
