US Dollar Climbs as Iraq Markets Open Higher

The Iraqi dollar exchange rate moved higher in Baghdad and Erbil on Sunday. The US currency traded near 155,000 Iraqi dinars for every $100. The rise came as local markets opened their latest trading session.

In Baghdad, the dollar reached 154,900 dinars per $100 at the Al-Kifah and Al-Harithiya exchanges. That marked an increase from Saturday’s rate of 154,650 dinars. The change added 250 dinars to the dollar’s value compared with the previous session.

Exchange shops in Baghdad posted different buying and selling prices. Sellers offered $100 for about 155,500 dinars. Meanwhile, buyers paid around 154,500 dinars for the same amount.

Erbil recorded slightly different figures during Sunday’s trading. Exchange offices sold $100 for about 154,800 dinars. They bought the same amount for approximately 154,750 dinars.

The Iraqi dollar exchange rate remains closely watched by businesses and consumers. Daily movements can affect import costs, retail prices, and household spending. Traders also monitor differences between Baghdad and Kurdistan markets.

The latest figures show a modest rise compared with Saturday. However, exchange rates can change throughout the trading day. Market activity and dollar demand will likely determine the next movement.

For now, the Iraqi dollar exchange rate remains around the 155,000-dinar level. Traders and consumers will continue watching both Baghdad and Erbil for further changes.
