It awarded the Common Seawater Supply Project for the Artawi oil field to Hyundai Engineering & Construction of South Korea. The project, known as CSSP-ITT-05, will include engineering, procurement, supply, construction, commissioning, and operation of a seawater treatment plant. This plant will process and deliver treated seawater for oil field operations. It aims to support energy production while reducing pressure on freshwater resources.
Government officials also confirmed the results of detailed price negotiations. They granted the award as an exception to Government Contracts Implementation Instructions No. 2 of 2014. This adjustment accounts for steps taken between 2018 and 2021 under specific financial authorities.
