The USD/IQD exchange rate edged lower in Iraq on Tuesday morning. The decline appeared in both Baghdad and Erbil markets. The dollar hovered near 155,500 dinars per $100 as trading began.
Market checks showed a modest change from Monday’s levels. In Baghdad, the Al-Kifah and Al-Harithiya exchanges quoted $100 at 155,500 dinars. That marked a 100-dinar decline from Monday’s 155,600-dinar rate.
The movement remained limited despite the lower opening rate. Exchange shops in Baghdad sold each dollar for about 156,000 dinars. They bought the currency for roughly 155,000 dinars. The gap between buying and selling prices remained noticeable.
Erbil recorded slightly different figures during the morning session. Local exchange shops offered the dollar for around 155,300 dinars per $100. Their buying rate reached approximately 155,250 dinars. These figures placed Erbil’s market slightly below Baghdad’s selling price.
The USD/IQD exchange rate continues to attract close attention from traders and consumers. Small daily changes can affect import costs and currency transactions. Businesses often monitor the market before making larger dollar purchases.
Tuesday’s movement points to a relatively stable start for the currency market. The difference from Monday remained small across Baghdad’s main exchanges. Erbil also maintained a narrow spread between buying and selling rates.
Market participants will watch trading activity throughout the day. Changes in dollar demand could influence rates later in the session. Broader financial conditions may also shape market sentiment.
For now, the USD/IQD exchange rate remains near the 155,500-dinar level. Baghdad and Erbil continue to show modest differences in retail pricing. Further movement will depend on supply, demand, and market activity
