Ford Iraq distributor Shimal Al Jazeera Auto-Trading and Commercial Agencies (SAT) will take over Ford operations in Iraq on October 1, 2026. Ford Middle East and North Africa announced the appointment on Monday. The agreement covers vehicle sales, genuine parts, and aftersales services across the country.
SAT operates through a partnership between March Holding and Alayyan Group. March Holding manages investments across several Iraqi sectors, including technology and financial services. Alayyan Group brings more than five decades of automotive distribution experience. Their combined expertise gives SAT a strong foundation for expanding Ford’s presence in Iraq.
The appointment highlights Ford’s continued commitment to the Iraqi market. The company aims to improve access to its vehicles, genuine parts, and maintenance services. Ford also plans to strengthen its sales and service network with SAT. The partnership seeks to improve support throughout the customer ownership experience.
Ravi Ravichandran, president of Ford Middle East and North Africa, described Iraq as an important market. He said Ford plans to serve Iraqi customers over the long term. Ravichandran also pointed to SAT’s local knowledge and customer-focused approach. He expects those strengths to support a stronger Ford experience across the country.
Mohamad Alayyan, CEO of SAT, said Ford has a long history with Iraqi customers. He noted that generations of drivers have trusted the brand. Alayyan said SAT wants to protect that trust through reliable distribution and customer support. The company plans to build its operations around infrastructure, expertise, and long-term investment.
Yasin Al-Saati, SAT’s general manager, also highlighted the market’s potential. He said SAT sees significant opportunities for Ford in Iraq. The company intends to combine local market knowledge with Ford’s international resources. That strategy could help the brand expand its reach in the coming years.
The transition will follow nine years of Ford representation by Al Kasid. Ford thanked Al Kasid for its contribution during that period. Both companies will work together until September 30 to maintain operational continuity. Customers can continue buying Ford vehicles and accessing services through Al Kasid facilities during the transition.
Ford said warranties and aftersales support will continue after the change. Genuine parts will also remain available for customers. The company has not yet released the full list of SAT locations. Details about showrooms, service centers, and customer contact points will come later.
The new Ford Iraq distributor also brings experience from several major automotive brands. Alayyan Group represents Hyundai, Kia, BYD, ISUZU, Geely, and GAC Motor in the region. SAT plans to establish a nationwide network of showrooms and certified service centers. The company says those facilities will support consistent standards across the ownership cycle.
For Ford, the partnership represents another step in its long-term Iraqi strategy. For SAT, the appointment creates an opportunity to expand one of the world’s best-known automotive brands. The new Ford Iraq distributor will begin operations as the market enters a new phase of automotive competition.
