Iraq traffic projects continues its push to upgrade urban infrastructure, and Baghdad is seeing real progress. Prime Minister Mohammed Shiaa Al-Sudani recently launched two major overpasses in the Tobji area. These projects form part of a broader effort to fix long-standing congestion in the capital.

As part of the first phase, the new overpasses in Karkh stretch 950 meters toward Al-Alawi and 550 meters toward Aden Square. Eight connecting ramps help drivers access Bin Hayyan Bridge and July 14 Street quickly and smoothly.
The work follows a larger traffic plan led by the Ministry of Construction and Housing. Out of 16 planned projects, 11 are already done. These developments target key links between areas such as Al-Adhamiyah, Al-Mansour, Al-Alawi, and Aden Square. As a result, drivers now face fewer jams and shorter travel times.
Prime Minister Al-Sudani thanked several government bodies for their efforts. He praised the Ministry of Construction and Housing, Baghdad Municipality, and the Baghdad Governorate. He also acknowledged the patience shown by residents during the build.
