Electricity Prices in Iraq at $0.015 Rank Lowest in the Arab Region

Iraq’s electricity prices lead the Arab region as the lowest rates continue to support consumers and businesses. Iraq’s electricity prices remain highly competitive compared to neighboring countries.

First, Iraq recorded the lowest residential electricity cost in the region. The price reached $0.015 per kilowatt-hour. This figure placed Iraq at the top among Arab countries for affordability.

Moreover, commercial electricity prices also stayed low. Iraq recorded $0.046 per kilowatt-hour for business use. This rate also ranked as the lowest across the region.

In addition, these low prices provide strong support for households. Families benefit from reduced energy costs. As a result, daily living expenses remain more manageable.

Furthermore, businesses gain a competitive advantage. Lower electricity costs reduce operating expenses. Therefore, companies can improve profits and expand operations more easily.

At the same time, other Arab countries recorded higher electricity prices. Egypt ranked second with $0.020 per kilowatt-hour. Meanwhile, Qatar followed with $0.032 per kilowatt-hour.

In comparison, Oman recorded $0.036 per kilowatt-hour. Algeria came fifth with $0.043 per kilowatt-hour.

On the other hand, some countries showed much higher electricity costs. Morocco recorded $0.125 per kilowatt-hour, the highest in the region. Similarly, Jordan reported $0.090 per kilowatt-hour.

Meanwhile, energy experts continue to monitor these differences. Price gaps reflect variations in energy resources and government policies. In Iraq, abundant energy resources help maintain low tariffs.

However, low prices also bring challenges. Governments must balance affordability with infrastructure investment. Reliable electricity requires continuous upgrades and maintenance.

In conclusion, Iraq’s electricity prices remain the lowest in the Arab region. These rates support both households and businesses. Iraq’s electricity prices continue to shape the country’s economic environment.
