Local authorities in Sulaymaniyah have launched an official investigation after a man discovered a strange white object inside a bottle of bottled water contamination. The incident raised health concerns and may lead to legal action.
Additionally, Pshko Mustafa reported the case after buying a full carton of bottled water for his family. When they opened one of the bottles, they noticed something floating inside. “All the bottles looked like they came from the same batch,” Mustafa explained. “I shook one, but the object didn’t mix with the water.”
He found the foreign object last week and quickly took a sample to the local district committee. He described it as something unusual and possibly dangerous. Mustafa also told officials where he bought the product and urged them to pull the remaining stock from the shelves. His main concern was to protect others from similar harm.
Therefore, the Sulaymaniyah District Joint Committee took the matter seriously. Its head, Goran Qadir, confirmed they received the sample and documented the incident. “We already informed the water plant inspection team,” he said. “They are now investigating the foreign object inside the bottle.”
Qadir explained that drinking water must meet safety standards. It must be clear, tasteless, and odorless. The presence of a white object in bottled water contamination clearly violates these standards and raises suspicions about contamination. “The object looks abnormal,” he added. “Special teams will run lab tests and share their results soon.”
If the tests confirm contamination, the authorities will take further steps. Qadir stated that they will refer the case to court for legal review. The investigation will also examine the production and distribution process to locate any safety gaps.
