Ongoing Development of Baghdad International Airport: 26 Projects Underway

The Ministry of Transport confirmed today, Saturday, that it is continuing to implement the development plan for Baghdad International Airport, with 26 projects currently underway.

A spokesperson for the Ministry of Transport, Maitham Al-Safi, stated that the ministry is progressing with its airport development initiative, launched in mid-2024 under the guidance of the Minister of Transport, Razzaq Muhaibis Al-Saadawi, through the General Company for Airports and Air Navigation Management.

He emphasized that Baghdad International Airport has been a major focus of this plan, which includes 26 projects designed to enhance the airport’s infrastructure and improve the services offered.

The Prime Minister, Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani, has previously instructed that international standards and specifications be applied to the development efforts at Baghdad Airport. These improvements aim to enhance the services provided to citizens and address any challenges encountered during the work to ensure its completion within the planned timelines and approved standards.
