Iraq’s oil exports continue to rise to Asia and Europe, with the majority of seaborne shipments reaching Asian countries. China, India, and South Korea received the highest volumes, reflecting growing energy demand in the region. Analysts note that Iraq oil exports strengthen the country’s economy while reinforcing its role in global energy markets.
China imported 1.1 million barrels per day of Iraqi crude oil. This represents a significant increase compared to the same period last year. Similarly, India imported 873,000 barrels per day, up by 39,000 barrels from the previous year. South Korea received 293,000 barrels per day, increasing its intake by 6,000 barrels compared to the same period. These numbers show that Iraq oil exports play a vital role in meeting Asia’s rising energy needs.
European countries also increased their Iraqi oil imports. Greece imported 197,000 barrels per day, up from 192,000 barrels last year. France imported 134,000 barrels per day, compared to 45,000 barrels the previous year. These increases demonstrate Iraq oil exports are not limited to Asia and highlight growing demand across multiple regions.
Government officials point out that Iraq oil exports enhance national revenue, support economic growth, and ensure the country remains a competitive supplier in global markets. Additionally, the country’s oil trade helps stabilize international energy supplies while offering reliable resources to both Asian and European partners.
Experts emphasize that Iraq oil exports will continue rise to Asia and Europe as production capacity expands and market demand grows. Energy planners expect these exports to attract more international investment and strengthen Iraq’s geopolitical influence in global energy networks.
Moreover, Iraq’s focus on sustaining export levels allows the country to maintain strong relationships with major energy-importing nations. This approach creates long-term trade partnerships while contributing to regional stability.
Through consistent growth in seaborne shipments, oil exports demonstrate the country’s ability to meet global energy needs and support economic development at home. By focusing on Asia and Europe, Iraq strengthens its strategic position in international oil markets.
