Dhi Qar Activates Emergency Oil Plan

Dhi Qar has activated a 90-day emergency oil plan to boost production, according to Saeed Zghir Shalgha, director general of Dhi Qar Oil Company.

The plan will add five new wells to increase production capacity. Shalgha shared this during his visit to the Nassiriya oil field, emphasizing the company’s efforts to meet targets under tight timelines.

The company is coordinating closely with the Ministry of Oil. Shalgha also highlighted support from national oil companies to maintain production and supply stability. Major projects are underway to invest in associated gas, including the first phase of the gas treatment project at the Gharraf field and a gas compression project at Nassiriya.

Shalgha added that Dhi Qar Oil follows a “production-first” approach, monitoring progress digitally. Regular reports ensure that projects align with the government’s goals to increase oil revenues and exports.
