Iraq’s Customs Authority has officially launched an AI-powered operations center to strengthen its administrative and supervisory capabilities across the country. The announcement was made on Monday by Thamer Qasim, the head of the authority.
According to Qasim, the new AI-based Customs Operations Center operates through a sophisticated electronic system built on artificial intelligence technology. Moreover, it provides continuous monitoring and management of customs activities at all border crossings, operating 24 hours a day. This innovation marks a significant milestone in Iraq’s ongoing effort to modernize public administration and enhance government efficiency.
In addition, the center functions under the supervision of the General Customs Authority and coordinates its work closely with the Border Ports Authority, relevant ministries, and other government and security institutions.
