Jordanian Exports to Iraq Reach $844 Million in First Eight Months of 2025

Jordanian exports to Iraq rose by 6.4% during the first eight months of 2025, totaling 599 million dinars ($844 million), according to the Jordanian Department of Statistics. The increase highlights Iraq’s growing importance as a key regional trade partner for Jordan.

Total Jordanian exports during the same period stood at 6.098 billion dinars ($8.6 billion). Four main trade blocs accounted for nearly 94% of these shipments, led by countries in the Greater Arab Free Trade Area, which captured 41.5% of total exports. Other major destinations included nations under the North American Free Trade Agreement (25.1%), non-Arab Asian countries (20.9%), and the European Union (6%).

Exports to the Greater Arab Free Trade Area climbed 10.1% to 2.53 billion dinars ($3.57 billion), up from 2.297 billion dinars ($3.24 billion) a year earlier. Within this bloc, Saudi Arabia remained the top Arab destination, importing 836 million dinars ($1.18 billion) worth of Jordanian goods — a 12.7% rise from the previous year.

Meanwhile, exports to Syria surged by an impressive 390.3%, reaching 152 million dinars ($214 million). This sharp growth reflects the gradual normalization of trade ties and improved border logistics between the two neighboring countries.

The consistent increase in Jordanian exports to Iraq also underscores the strengthening economic link between Amman and Baghdad. Both governments have worked to boost trade cooperation, including plans for joint industrial zones and improved transport routes.

With rising demand across Arab markets and stronger integration through free trade agreements, Jordan’s export sector continues to show resilience. The positive performance in 2025 suggests that Jordanian exports to Iraq and other regional partners will likely maintain momentum through the end of the year.
