Iraq exported nearly 5 million barrels of oil to the United States in February 2025, a decrease from 6.23 million barrels in January, according to the US Energy Information Administration (EIA).
The EIA reported that Iraq’s average daily exports to the US in February were 257,000 barrels during the first week, 228,000 barrels during the second week, 46,000 barrels in the third week, and 170,000 barrels in the fourth week.
In February, Iraq ranked as the sixth-largest oil exporter to the US, following Canada, Mexico, Saudi Arabia, Brazil, and Venezuela. Within the Arab region, Iraq was the second-largest supplier after Saudi Arabia.
In January 2025, Iraq exported $442 million worth of oil to the US, amounting to 5.62 million barrels, as per a report from the US Census Bureau. In 2024, Iraq’s oil exports to the US totaled over 95 million barrels.
Iraq’s oil exports have been on the rise in recent years, driven by an increase in production capacity and growing global demand for oil. These exports play a vital role in strengthening economic ties between Iraq and the United States while supporting global energy markets.
