Iraq Strengthens UK Ties as IBBC Appoints Al Saadi

The Iraq Britain Business Council (IBBC) has appointed. Mohammed Al Saadi of Sama Hammurabi Law Firm as its new IBBC Iraq representative. This key honorary position revives an important role, once held by Rasmi Al Jabri.

Al Saadi brings deep legal experience and institutional knowledge to this role. He leads Hammurabi Law, a pioneering firm in Iraq’s legal sector. The firm has represented more IBBC members than any other legal office in Iraq.

It also holds records for the highest number of cases before Iraq’s Federal Supreme Court. over 580—far surpassing its closest competitor. The IBBC Iraq representative will now act as the official link between the IBB and the Iraqi government.

As the IBBC Iraq representative. Al Saadi will play a central role in advocating for member companies and supporting their legal and operational needs. He emphasized that the IBBC provides a platform for trusted, reputable companies to participate in Iraq’s economic development.

Al Saadi stated that one of his goals is to ensure Iraqi member companies have a clear and strong voice within the council. He aims to represent their technical and economic needs while also securing legal protections that foster business sustainable growth.

The appointment also symbolizes the strengthening of Iraq-UK ties. Al Saadi acknowledged the historical relationship between Iraq and Britain,noting the UK’s past role in helping to build Iraq’s modern state.

He also shared his personal dedication to the role, mentioning the recent passing of a close colleague, Muhannad Al-Hattab.
