Iraq ranked fourth in Turkish exports for September 2025, highlighting its strong trade ties with Turkey. According to the Turkish Statistical Institute (TURKSTAT), Turkey’s total exports in September reached $22.58 billion. This figure represents a 2.8% increase compared to the same month in 2024.
At the same time, imports rose 8.7% to $29.48 billion. The steady rise in trade reflects Turkiye’s expanding international market connections, especially with neighboring countries such as Iraq.
Germany remained Turkey’s leading export market with $1.9 billion in trade value. The United Kingdom followed with $1.38 billion, while the United States ranked third with $1.35 billion. Iraq came in fourth with $1.10 billion in imports from Turkey. Italy ranked just below Iraq, recording $1.09 billion in imports. Together, the top five countries accounted for more than 30% of Turkiye’s total exports in September, according to TURKSTAT’s report.
The strong performance of Iraq Turkish exports demonstrates growing economic cooperation between the two nations. Iraq continues to be one of Turkey’s most important Arab trading partners. Between January and July 2025, Iraq led all Arab importers of Turkish goods, with trade totaling $6.6 billion. This reflects steady demand for a wide range of Turkish products.
The imported goods include precious metals, grains, electrical machinery, furniture, plastics, fruits, and vegetables. These sectors remain key contributors to Iraq Turkish exports and showcase the diversity of products traded between the two countries.
