Iraq is fully ready to host a major summit that promises strong results. Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein confirmed that the Baghdad Summit will be effective and focus on practical discussions. Leaders from across the Arab world will gather in Baghdad for this high-level event.
Hussein stressed that the summit comes at a key moment. Regional tensions are high, yet Arab countries are showing unity. Their participation highlights a shared goal—supporting development and forming a united Arab front. The Baghdad Summit will be effective because it aims for real solutions to serious challenges.
The minister welcomed Arab leaders warmly, saying Baghdad stands proud. He noted that preparations for the summit reflect Iraq’s readiness and commitment. The organizing committee has held 16 sessions to ensure every detail is addressed. This effort underlines Iraq’s central role in regional diplomacy.
According to Hussein, the summit will include participation from 20 Arab organizations and global bodies. The United Nations and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation will attend. Spain’s Prime Minister will be the guest of honor. Around 500 journalists, both local and international, will report on the event.
Iraq will also host three major meetings: the Arab League Council, the Fifth Development Summit, and a leadership summit involving Iraq, Egypt, and Jordan. These gatherings reflect Iraq’s deep involvement in shaping regional policies. Hussein said these events prove that the Baghdad Summit will be effective and results-focused.
Two key sessions will take place during the summit. The morning session will cover summit-level issues. The second will focus on development challenges. Together, these will produce the Baghdad Declaration. This document will call for urgent action in Gaza and propose plans for recovery and cooperation.
In addition, discussions will include proposals for creating a joint Arab center. This center would fight terrorism, drug trafficking, and organized crime. There will also be talks on rebuilding war-torn areas and lifting sanctions, especially those affecting Syria.
Fuad Hussein also noted the high level of participation. Unlike previous summits, many top Arab leaders will attend. Their presence shows the seriousness of the talks and the shared hope for positive change.
