Iraq inflation data 2025 shows mixed trends

Iraq inflation data for 2025 shows fluctuating prices across the country. The Ministry of Planning released detailed figures after monitoring markets nationwide. Both Baghdad and the Kurdistan Region were included in the survey. As a result, households can understand yearly price movements.

Ministry teams tracked prices of 333 goods and services. These items cover 486 categories across 12 main expenditure groups. They represent about 88 percent of typical household spending. The Central Statistical Organization collected the data through field visits throughout the year.

Iraq inflation data shows seven months with declining prices. January, April, and October each saw a 0.3 percent decrease. June recorded the sharpest monthly drop at 1.2 percent. July had a slight decline of 0.1 percent, while November and December decreased by 0.5 percent.

In contrast, five months recorded rising inflation. February, March, and September increased by 0.2 percent. May rose by 0.1 percent, and August saw the highest monthly increase at 0.8 percent. These fluctuations reflect changing supply, demand, and market conditions.

Annual inflation compared to 2024 also showed mixed trends. Seven months recorded declines, with July and December dropping 1.2 percent, and August and November falling 1 percent. Meanwhile, five months showed increases. January had the highest rise at 2.3 percent, followed by February at 2.2 percent, March at 2.1 percent, and April and May at 1.5 percent each.

Officials noted that the inflation basket covers essential goods and services, including food, energy, housing, healthcare, and transport. The mixed trend reflects both domestic and international factors influencing prices. Government monitoring helps plan interventions and support households.

Analysts said Iraq inflation data highlights the importance of careful economic management. Policymakers may adjust fiscal and monetary policies to maintain stability. Citizens and businesses are advised to track inflation trends to plan spending.

Overall, Iraq inflation data shows small monthly changes but clear yearly shifts. The information offers insight into price stability and economic challenges. Continuous monitoring ensures transparency and supports public awareness.
