Iraq attracts new investment in AI-powered logistics through a major deal involving the startup Boxy. EQIQ, a venture capital firm, announced a $1.5 million investment in Boxy to boost its growth. This startup stands as Iraq’s first AI-powered logistics aggregator.
Boxy was founded in 2024 by Ahmed Baqer and Mehrshad Pezeshk, in collaboration with EQIQ. As well as, the company aims to unify over 1,500 last-mile couriers under one smart platform. With this plan, Boxy fills a serious gap in the country’s logistics market.
EQIQ’s founding partner, Mohamed Al-Hakim, explained the reason behind the investment. He called logistics the “vital backbone” of Iraq’s growing e-commerce sector. So, the company aims to reshape the digital ecosystem in Iraq by linking fintech, logistics, and e-commerce services.
Boxy’s platform uses AI to connect merchants with the best delivery options. It evaluates courier performance and merchant needs in real time. This approach allows merchants to avoid dealing with multiple platforms or companies.
By using smart technology, Boxy makes parcel delivery smoother and more reliable. Merchants no longer need to manually search for delivery services. As well as, instead, Boxy handles that with automated decisions based on data.
Since its launch in late 2024, Boxy has experienced strong growth. The company reported a 100% jump in the number of merchants using the platform last month. This shows that Iraq attracts new investment in AI-powered logistics because of growing market demand.
Ahmed Baqer, Boxy’s CEO, said the partnership with EQIQ supports a shared vision. He wants to rebuild Iraq’s logistics sector into a smart, unified system. However, according to Baqer, Boxy helps businesses choose the best shipping solution for every order, cutting delays and risks.
With the new funding, Boxy will improve its technology and expand operations. In addition, the company will work closely with top courier networks across Baghdad and other major Iraqi cities.
As more businesses turn to digital tools, Iraq attracts new investment in AI-powered logistics solutions. EQIQ’s support signals confidence in Iraq’s tech-driven future. Startups like Boxy now lead the way in transforming outdated systems into smarter services.
