Iraq continues to face a deepening water crisis, especially in its southern province of Basra. In response, the European Union (EU) has provided 1.1 million euros to support urgent relief operations. The EU aims to deliver this assistance over six months. The support will reach roughly 500,000 people who live in the most affected areas. Many of these individuals reside in informal settlements around Basra, where access to clean water remains a daily struggle.
